I have no excuse whatsoever not to do this project.
I studied an amazing online course with Christyan Fox for writing and illustrating children's books. He teaches in a manner that compelled me to be so focused on absorbing the tips and processes that I now feel empowered to do this.
As part of filling-my-50s-with-my-bucket-list, I started my master's in graphic design. I used this children's book project in one of my modules, and through that, I understood the importance of research and exploration.
At 53 I stood in the halls of Falmouth University with the traditional official gown for my graduation. Was I too old? NO. We are never too old to learn anything. The Falmouth University Chancellor is the actress Dawn French, who looked me in the eyes and said "Well done, you did it." The words felt so personal as if she knew the challenge it took me to get there.
Armed with my personal life skills of resourcefulness, creativity, and imagination plus with the experience of reading to my three children, I understand their curiosity and so I am ready to take on this new challenge.
I repeat ... I have no excuse whatsoever not to do this project!
