Through talking to locals, I am pleased to announce that I have been invited to Cologny, Geneva for the fête du terroir (festival of local products) on the 25th of August 2024. As I am a local writer and illustrator for children's books they would like me to have a stand there. I will be amongst farmers and wine merchants which means I ought to get the No. 2 Zero Hunger book out.
As I will not have enough time to order another 500 from the printers now I
know their delay is a month, what I will do is finish the book, have a few copies made up via www.LULU.com as they have a two week delay and perhaps organize an oversized print made up, via a local printer, to read to children and sell rather the no. 14 in French which is what the organizers invited me for. This will be more expensive, but at least I can show what I have even it would be available a few weeks later.
I need to think ahead of any other events a particular book may be interesting for to write and illustrate it ready.
Now for the preparation, I will need a table, chairs, roll up, some books to sell, payment methods sorted out etc. I love planning.
